Harvest Day

I've got way too many "draft" posts in this blog. I'll try to find some time to clear them out, but it was such a beautiful day this afternoon that I thought I would do a bit of gardening. Turns out that there was a lot of gardening to do. The berries are almost done for the year, but the beans are really going strong. I have plenty of potatoes and tomatoes left in the garden, so this doesn't represent all that is still out there. The carrots are pathetic -- for some reason I grow pathetic carrots year after year. Perhaps someone has advice for me. The apples, too, are pretty sad; but I have figured out that the tree was simply lacking in water. I have since purchased a water timer, and plan to hook it up to one of my rain barrels.

Anyway, I don't have a philosophical let's-change-the-world post for you today (although I do have a couple drafts along those lines). But I thought I should at least tell the world that I'm still alive and brag a little: Hey check out all this food!!
